NAYA BAND is the name of the group that was formed almost six years ago in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria featuring Nayaband Jean (singer & composer) from Senegal as its main artistic & musical architect. From prior experience with the groups "Mystic Vibes", "Xibaar" & "Akoustic Experience" he could now begin to see the breath of fresh air it would mean & bring to the Canarian musical scene.

The band released its first disc titled Globalización in the year 2008, which sold out all copies, and with it they decided to present themselves to the national public. During these three years they had toured a veritable multitude of clubs & nightspots, where they expressed their most intímate of moods. They have just released their second album titled Hope (Ewin, 2011), which is proof of the maturity, consolidation & projection of the group.

With Hope, Nayaband reaffirm their original proposal, in which musicians of African & western tradition make contact, without being able to distinguish exactly who gives and who receives; thus creating a seductive blend. From catchy reggaes to fine Afro rhythms which become fast-paced, Naya Band has the public enjoying an extended palette of colours & atmosphere with disconcerting simplicity and deep-voiced Senegalese sincerity.
