Atcheré is a Latin Jazz-Fusion band with considerable experience at international, national & local venues. Their style can be classed as a cocktail of sounds combining Latin rhythms (mainly Cuban & Brazilian) with funk, dixie and swing, establishing their own distinguishing mark over the years.
Within their genre, they are one of the more renowned groups on the Spanish scene, as a result of their irresistable, overwhelming style and for having had on their books such important musicians from Tenerife as Polo Ortí, Eliseo Lloreda, Samuel Labrador, Fernando Barrios, Jordi Arocha, Jonathan Hernández, Manuel Ángel Lorenzo (leader), Kike Perdomo, Andrés Molina, Fernando Ortí ….. Nowadays they have a new formation, but perform with the same energy as in their beginnings.
Their trajectory dates back to the start of the 90s, a period during which they released four discs. They are currently working on their fifth album, featuring original numbers written by their leader, Manuel Ángel Alegría, Mangui.
They have participated at jazz festivals sharing the bill with legends such as Bill Evans & Puch, Chuck Loeb Band, Herbie Hancock … In the year 2003 they performed in the Chamber Hall at the Adán Martıń Auditorium in Tenerife, within the framework of the cycle ‘JazzAtlantico’, presenting their own particular version of jazz, salsa & rock.
With a helping hand from the Canaries, ‘Crea’ initiated a cycle in the year 2004 of “Jazz en Calle 54”, revealing to the public vocals & compositions by artists like Chiqui Pérez, Polo Ortı,́ Kike Perdomo, Anne Peter, Atcheré and the Augusto Báez Trıó.
In 2005 they released their second disc, Mejunje, which was presented in Barcelona with collaboration by Esther Ovejero.Following that, Atcheré went on to make a live recording, The beat goes on, at the Sauzal Auditorium.
