The latest album by Carita Boronska is titled Hypnotic Soul, which she recorded with some of the best musicians on the music scene; José Vera (has played with Horacio Icasto, Deborah Carter, Jorge Pardo, Chano Domínguez, Carlos Núñez, Antonio Vega, Ismael Serrano, Concha BuiKa, Pepe de Lucía, Pasión Vega, Sergio Dalma, among many others); Gladston Galliza (ten discs of his own and collaborations with artists such as Hugo Fattoruso, Tomohiro Yahiro, Miyuki Onitake & Claudia Gomez); and drummer Patti Ballinas (a Yamaha Drums endorser and a number of demonstrations, clinics & concerts presented at countries all over the world together with Dave Weckl, Antonio Sanchez, Tommy Aldridge, Ndugu Chancler, Richard Bona, Victor Wooten, Will Lee, Nathan East, Buika & Chenoa).
It features songs that “speak of heart, soul to soul” in her own words. Numbers where the Scandinavian artist moves with the subtlety & elegance of her voice from soul to blues touching on pop, smooth jazz and folk. Carita Boronska is a Swedish composer and singer who began her career in commercial publicity with a TV spot for ‘Movistar’.
The hit single titled The beat goes on (Universal, 2000) was Carita’s first important work, which also became the main song in the film La Gran Vida (starring Salma Hayek & Carmelo Gómez). Carita then released the album Jazzuality in April 2007, which included the number When I’m with you, a highly regarded version of the song Estando contigo, by Augusto Algueró).
Musically trained at the Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA), she resided in Spain for a decade. In the year 2007 she went to Paris and in 2009 returned to her native country, Sweden. She has composed various different soundtracks, among them being some for films, such as Eres mi héroe (Manuel Lozano), 6 mujeres, un difunto y un taller (with Carmen Maura & Pablo Carbonell) and Sweaty Beards (a Viking-Swedish comedy. In 2017 she composed the soundtrack for Waltzing Tilda, a Swedish-Australian short film which has received very favourable reviews by critics at many festivals.
In the year 2018 she released Hypnotic Soul, a totally self-produced album where most of the numbers are composed by her, featuring specific collaborations, like with the guitarrist Gladston Galliza and Elena Ruiz López. The CD features songs that speak of love & hope but also of war and its victims, and global & social issues, like politics, the abuse of Mother Earth (the environment) and domestic violence.
Over the span of her career she has worked alongside a wide range of artists & musicians, such as Richard Evans, Bob Cranshaw, Polo Ortí, Antonio Serrano, Jason Marsalis, Randy Brecker, David Gilmore, Niels Lan Doky, Antonio Cuadri Vides, Gladston Galliza, Malú, Mónica Molina, Francisco, Israel Sandoval, Bob Sands, Jose Vera, Adrán Schinoff and many more.
