The members of this quintet have known each other for ages and have collaborated on many occasions with different groups and bands of other musicians, but had never worked as a band until the European promoter Diego Cano, owner of Art ́s & Be Flat Jazz Club in Tenerife proposed getting five musicians together to carry out a cultural interchange between the Canaries and Belarus; where the quintet performed a number of gigs in the city of Minsk, one at the Museum of Contemporary Art and another at the National Theatre in said city. It received very good reviews by the Belarus press.
On their return to Tenerife, the five musicians decided to consolidate this quintet into a stable entity and began working featuring original compositions by each member of the band.
The members are Eliseo Lloreda (guitars), Fernando Barrios (saxophone), Samuel Labrador (piano), Felu Morales (bass) & J.M Churchi (drums). Over the period of time since it started out, the quintet has become a band with great stylistic possibilities. Deeply absorbed in their own compositions, the Eliseo Lloreda Qintet tends to appeal to the whole audience and is mainly a traditional jazz formation: Hard Bop, Be Bop, Cool, etc., with an intricate style but fresh & intense. It is perhaps one of the first Canarian jazz bands to embark on this type of musical adventure and with surprising results. But if you were to sum up this group in a single word, it would be ‘energy’.
Over the years they have developed their own particular style where risk and rhythmic interaction are their main stronghold. Between acoustic and electric, between clean-cut minimalist and excessively stylistic, the band searches for its identity, with each of its members offering a distinct & refreshed dimension.
