Green Jeans is a quartet composed of Lucas de Mulder (guitar), Ricardo Padilla (keyboards), Mario Carrillo (contrabass) & Rodrigo Muñoz (drums). The band’s name is taken from the song title sung by American guitarrist & composer Grant Green, on the CD Matador (1965). Grant Green has been and remains a great source of inspiration for this group, who over the span of his short career knew how to combine with great skill & exactness the essence of jazz with sounds akin to groove, funk and soul-jazz. Green Jeans relocates this spirit to their compositions, thus achieving a warm blend, where interaction between the musicians plays a fundamental role. Aside from that and due to the varied training & skills of the band’s members, their compositions also reflect influences by other musicians, such as John Scofield, Miles Davis, Joe Henderson, George Duke & Boogaloo Joe Jones, to mention a few.
