ST Fusion was formed originally as ST DÚO (result of a meeting between the Japanese Satomi Morimoto (vocals, piano, keyboard & koto) and the Canarian Tomás L-P Cruz (contrabass, guitar, shamisen & koto), in Tokyo in the year 2003, consolidating as a band the following year, during the cutting of their first recorded work Occiriental, whose title clearly shows, without any reservation, their open-minded attitude, brazen and ‘mestizo’/hybrid.

Since the live presentation of St Fusion in January 2004 at the ‘Palacio de Lercaro’ in the city of La Laguna in Tenerife, the band has performed at the main theatres & historic buildings on the same island, as well as at various music festivals in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and on the islands of La Gomera, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura; and in September 2006 at the prestigious ‘Mercat de Música Viva de Vic’, in Cataluña (Mainland Spain), and after that Alicante and Brazil. In April 2006, the band recorded their second disc in CD-DVD format, the title of which was once again revealing & defining, titled Diagonal, and was presented at the Tenerife Auditorium in June of that same year.

Their benchmark references, at least the most influential ones, seem to remain clear: a kind of modern jazz, traditional Japanese music and Brazillean MPB. Each member of ST Fusion can boast of a solid training and great professional experience, having worked with a number of musical ensembles of extreme importance. In the year 2010 they released their third disc titled 3, in which they keep showing their musical prowess & maturity, as well as consolidating themselves as a band. This album received an award by UFI, (Unión Fonográfica Independiente de España)(National Independent Music Awards), in the category ‘Best Jazz Album’ of 2010.

In 2011 they released their CD, Overview, a compilation of the most emblematic pieces by the band. Their fifth album titled Common Time was released in the year 2012 and they presented it at a number of cities in Spain, England & Brazil. More recently, they have been selected to participate at a number of festivals, such as the EHG London Jazz Festival, Xábia International Jazz Festival, Festival de Jazz de Campo Grande (BR), Festival International de Jazz de Canarias, among others. In 2015 the band went on tour around the Canaries with the great guitarrist Chico Pinheiro, and made a documentary recording of the tour. Following the release of an EP in 2017 titled Run, they released their latest work, titled Bushi in 2018.
